Online Marketing 101

Posting intellectual imagery (artist imagery) online and being a blogger comes with a certain amount of responsibility.  The most important is your responsibility to give credit where credit is due.  This means all of the imagery and intellectual content that you use that isn’t yours on YOUR blog.  It’s enriching YOUR content - pay it forward.  Secondly, the responsibility to contribute and further the conversation; that conversation being the art discussion or general online conversation.  It’s the World Wide “WEB” meaning everything should traffic and generate to and from things so that people can get the most out of their cruise on the web, so to speak.  You should include links and tags so that this content is easily accessible with internet search tags.  Not only does this help the artists or owners of this content but it helps generate traffic for your blog.  With tags, captions and links for things, it is more likely to show up during internet searches and be present in the internet conversation.

Amazing SF painter and tattooist Henry Lewis in, um, ‘07 or ‘08 I think?  I was supposed to see him this weekend for a new piece consultation but got so caught up with stuff I could not squeeze it.  Can’t wait for my new tattoo, Henry!

THANK YOU TUMBLR!

My Lead Lungs have received over 400 notes from bloggers on tumblr!!!  That makes me really excited.  Thanks for loving them - I almost bailed on them and didn’t finish them.  I’m really happy I stayed committed.  You’ve all taught me a great lesson of commitment.
